The Editor is a key operational staff member responsible for:
- Product listing support
- Content review and moderation
- Ensuring marketplace compliance
- Assisting vendors with uploads
- Maintaining quality and accuracy of store content
Editors are the gatekeepers of quality in the OVMPS marketplace.
They ensure every product, image, description, category, and vendor content meets OVMPS standards before customers see it.
SECTION 2 — MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
2.1 Product Listing & Content Management
Editors ensure all products uploaded to OVMPS are:
- Correctly categorized
- Properly priced
- Using high-quality images
- Free from misinformation
- Not violating restricted/prohibited item rules
- Written with clean, clear descriptions
They also:
- Help vendors fix listing errors
- Reformat titles and descriptions using SEO principles
- Ensure consistency across similar product types
- Remove duplicate, misleading, or fraudulent listings
2.2 Vendor Assistance & Content Support
Editors support vendors with:
- Creating and uploading new product listings
- Correcting product variations
- Editing product galleries
- Updating stock/price when vendors request help
- Explaining policies and content requirements
- Clarifying how to write high-converting descriptions
- Helping new vendors get their first set of products live
Editors do not manage vendor membership or financial issues.
2.3 Compliance & Marketplace Policy Enforcement
Editors enforce:
- Prohibited product rules
- Image quality standards
- Accurate product information
- No fake, counterfeit, or misleading listings
- Adherence to OVMPS terms & conditions
- Proper usage of attributes (size, weight, color, etc.)
- Ensure Products are assigned to the right categories, tags, shipping class and properly stocked
They flag:
- Fraudulent vendors
- Policy violations
- Dangerous or illegal products
- Copyright infringement
- Misleading offers or false discounts
Flagged items are escalated to:
- QC Officer (for product issues)
- General Manager (for vendor-related misconduct)
2.4 Customer Experience Optimization
Editors directly impact customer satisfaction by:
- Ensuring products are presented accurately
- Avoiding confusion with wrong variations
- Verifying size guides or technical specs
- Making sure images reflect the real items
- Ensuring no listing can deceive or mislead buyers
Good product content = fewer returns, fewer disputes, more sales.
2.5 Coordination with QC, State Managers & Customer Support
Editors work closely with:
Quality Control Officer
For:
- Suspicious listings
- Returned item verification
- Bad imagery
- Prohibited products
State Manager
For:
- Vendor training at state level
- Listing support for vendors in locations
Customer Service
For:
- Fixing wrong listings that caused complaints
- Correcting products that led to cancellations
2.6 Reporting Responsibilities
Editors provide:
Daily:
- Number of listings reviewed
- Products rejected/flagged
- Vendor issues encountered
Weekly:
- Category quality reports
- Repeated vendor violations
- Suggestions to improve listing guidelines
Monthly:
- Platform quality assessment report
- SEO/content improvement recommendations
SECTION 3 — WHAT THE EDITOR MUST NOT DO
❌ Cannot upgrade/downgrade vendor membership

❌ Cannot change vendor bank details
❌ Cannot modify global site settings or themes
❌ Cannot access financial reports
❌ Cannot delete vendors
Editors are quality officers, not finance, HR, or management.

- Ability to identify prohibited or misleading listings
